1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Account information: email address, username, display name, avatar
• Content you create: poll questions, options, video and image uploads
• Voting activity: which polls you vote on and which options you select
• Payment information: billing is processed by Stripe — we store only a Stripe Customer ID, not raw card data
• Usage data: timestamps, IP address, device type, browser agent

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the Service
• To personalize your feed and discover content
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (e.g. account verification, billing)
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse

3. Anonymous Voting

Weyn supports anonymous voting. When you vote anonymously, your vote is recorded without your public username being attached to the visible results. However, your voter ID is retained internally to enforce the one-vote-per-poll rule and prevent fraud. Anonymous votes are not sold or shared with third parties.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers who operate on our behalf (Supabase for database, Mux for video, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting)
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights
• With your consent

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@weyn.app. Upon deletion, your profile and content will be removed within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Weyn uses session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We may use basic analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. EU/EEA residents have additional rights under GDPR. To exercise these rights, contact support@weyn.app.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by email.
